i think if you had a seperate bit for games then there should also be a seperate bit for birthdays, get well wishes etc
even those threads where people just say hello !!!

oops thats me who deleted on the other page. I didnt word what I said very well at all.

I dont mind quizes in gen but I can also see that they would also work well on another board designed for quizes as other threads can fall by the wayside as the fast moving quizes go to the top.

But I am fed up of being told to go off topic we must go elsewhere. To relax and take some time out from my tree I like gen. I dont feel we should be forced to certain boards to go off topic and the odd quiz isnt the end of the world.

I love some of the games, but agree it would be better if they where on a seperate board,wonder if these comments will make any differance?

I agree with you & i started the word association thread out of boredom one day ! !. I never thought it would go on so long , i have even considered deleting it , wondering myself if it gets on peoples nerves but then thought someone else would just start another one up anyway .
I do think think it would be a good idea if the games threads be on a seperate page .
Just out of interest if anyone wants that one in particular deleting , no problem .
just giz a yell.I certainly won't be offended in anyway .0))

I agree with you Muffy - they can get a little tiresome on times - don't think I'm being a Victor Meldrew here, some of them are more than a little childish, but then having said that I'll contradict myself and say I've added to quite a few!!!

Oh I don't think so Brian. There's always the tips and records boards for when you've got your genealogy head on so I don't think it's lost it's purpose at all. I occassionally play the games too so there's nothing wrong in it IMO. I just think it would be nicer if they had their own board that's all.......free this one up a bit.

Maybe I'm just lazy but sometimes......and especially the last few days when I've had trouble turning pages on here......if the first page is mostly games......I tend to just trundle off elsewhere.xx

I for one think that, that would be a very good idea,
dont get me wrong i dont dislike them but they do clutter the boards up sometimes

I ask myself why do people join a family history site to play games?

OK, a little occasional light relief is good, but what should be the main purpose of the site seems to be getting lost.

Are there not more suitable dedicated games sites?

Im not sure if the question - if you mean scrabulous can be done by PM if you mean games on gen IE quizes I think this is the right forum.
