We have to condemn publicly on these boards the very idea that some individuals feel they have the right to assault others.

In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it & it will rise up a thousandfold in the future.

When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are ripping the foundations of justice from beneath future generations.

Question - how many of us will remember this brave mother's name in 12 months' time?

We may not remember her name but we should remember what she has done, that's the important part.

Very brave lady and she did do the right thing although it must have been so difficult for her. A different situation saw my son's bike stolen by a lad in the next town. My son knew who he was but before the police went to the house his father turned up at the police station with son and bike and told them his son had obviously stolen it. They rang me and asked if I wanted to take it further and I said no, but just scare him a little. With his Dad's permission they kept him in for 3 hours. A week later my son received, through the police station, a written apology.

Do you think Gordon Brown should telephone her - as reports today say he has done for some other citizens?

I agree with all that has been said. We parents & grandparents must take a stand in these situations.

There was an announcement on TV earlier this evening that GMTV has received 10,000 responses applauding the lady's actions and she will be meeting the wife of the attacked man on GMTV on Monday morning.

I wish her the very best for her couragous stand.

For doing the right thing this poor woman has lost everything that she loved, even her precious Grandchildren. how my heart bleeds for her.what chance have these children got to grow into well rounded adults with parents like they have?
