Am I imagining this, or did they used to have a panel of judges from every participating country taking part, who used to vote?
Then they made it more 'democratic' and the public phoned in their vote.

I watched the voting and feel that we should just pull out of it and leave them to it.

The whole spirit of the thing is ruined.... it's a farce and an embarassment. It is not about music and to try and pretend it is, like they were, is just an insult to the intelligence xx

I love Terry Wogan doing Eurovision!! The first year we were here we watched it on the Irish channel but half way through I switched over to Terry, the mans a legend when it comes to Euro, he is so funny and sarcastic, its the best part!!

Sally Moonchild Report 22 May 2008 10:48

Why do we go in for it in the first place Penny.......the voting seems political to me, and neighbouring countries always vote for each other anyway..... sally

BrianW Report 22 May 2008 10:42

The worst thing about it is Terry Wogan.

The second worst thing is the songs.

The third worst thing is the politics.

Can't think of anything good about it at all.

Susan

Susan Report 22 May 2008 08:06

It was said Cliff Richard was conned out of his first place with Congratulations, because of some political situation or other.

You should have put more money in the pot Theresa & then you would have been in the final with the turkey :-)

Lorraine

Lorraine Report 21 May 2008 20:15

love the Euro we usually turn it into a family gathering with bets who will win.

We have not a chance in hell of winning but it's still a good laugh.

Elvis reincarnated could represent UK and we still wouldn't win.

Did anyone see the Irish 'entrant' last night?? After years of entering and winning we actually entered a Turkey......as in a puppet turkey and boy was it a turkey....

I usually watch it with the subtitles as what they sing just doesn't make sense - in English

A nice bottle of wine helps too :-)

I don't think we will ever win again - just wondered why we contributed !

Devon Dweller Report 21 May 2008 18:47

Andy Abraham is a real sweety I really hope he wins and I think we actually stand a chance with him singing

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 21 May 2008 18:45

haven't watched it for years now - not since countries started voting politically instead of voting for the best entry!!
