I Like it Marion - but it appears that some areas make it illegal and others couldn;t give a t..ss...
The stupid thing about it is that quite a few just 'try to get one inch of their tyres on the pavement" as though it is a required 'skill' for their driving test !!!!!

Totally agree, John. Wrong, selfish and illegal. Work in school, has yellow lines etc - they still park there, worry so about the children plus of course others.

i noticed it when i took my grandson out for the first time in his buggy, i live in a village in cornwall where we dont have many pavements and those we do cars park on them!!

Parking on pavementsWhat are the problems of parking on the pavement?

Parking on pavements can force pedestrians, wheelchair users and people with pushchairs onto the road where they are at risk of collision with motor vehicles.
Parking on pavements causes particular problems for people with poor eyesight and/or people with mobility difficulties.
Parking on pavements outside schools causes difficulties for children trying to see oncoming vehicles.
Most pavements are not designed to carry vehicles and parking on them can cause damage which adds to maintenance costs.


Please park on the road NOT on the pavement



What can happen?

Driving along the pavement is an offence for which you can be fined up to…..£1000
Parking on a pavement is an offence under local by-laws in some areas and you could receive a fine.
Parking on a pavement can cause an obstruction for which you can be issued with a fixed penalty notice.
You can be charged for the costs of repairing damage to pavements and any services pipes or cables that result from your driving or parking on a pavement.

arhhhh john one of my pet hates as well......and yes ive confronted some before as well...built like a tank or not...lol....but they don't give a t**s.....very selfish!!!!

I agree with you entirely on this John, Marion and Cat. I have been known to scratch the odd car when trying to squeeze past with my buggy, well I wasn't going to take my children into the busy road now was I. Makes my blood boil.

A lot of selfish people out there. They would be the first to moan if their car got scratched by a passing buggy or wheelchair though.
Just as selfish as the ones who park out side your house,take up two spaces and go away to work all day, with no spaces for the people who live in the street.

Hi, I know where you coming from, its infuriating :(

Why do many arrogant, selfish, brain-dead morons park their cars either fully or partially on the darned pavement. ?. I've just witnessed a little old granny dithering and shaking having to step off the pavement and onto the oncoming traffic.. A young girl with a pram and two young kids having to put their lives in danger, and of course, this old fart who got as angry as hell. When ever I confront one of these 'persons' they always turn out to be built like 'Russian Fullbacks', and that's just the women !! But seriously is this 'parking skylark' legal or illegal ? In this part of the world even the police park on the pavement, so what chance has anyone got.
This selfish and pathetic action has only come about in the last 10/15 years or so, and please no excuses like 'the roads aren't wide enough. They have been for many many years. and please no sarcastic remarks like "not like the old days"....I'm really peed off.
