well i was on this thread, iwas enjoying the light hearted guessing game, at first i just thought it was banter,then it turned nasty so i come off, as i am fairly new here, only know a few names, i couldnt really join in gone through the thread cant see why it went wrong.

I too suggest you let it drop especially as you have accused me of something I did not do. I did not mention your name in my post on the chat thread. the following is what I said and this is my final post on the matter.

* Being the eternal optimist I still think the good outweighs the bad on here. Unfortunately bad things seem to mostly happen at night when most of the more rational people are in bed, not all of course and it is those who take the brunt of it.

I have no intention of leaving and am paid up for another year.

Catherine left for many reasons, the main ones being she is very busy with her new teaching job which she want to concentrate on (Gwen, you asked, it is catherine in Manchester), she also doesn't have a lot to do on her tree, and finally she got fed up with people changing names and not knowing who she was talking to. (remember the thread the other night who am I?)

I tend to agree with her that the hiding behind different names is an aggravation we could do without because that way we are unable to avoid people who we would not normally chose to talk to because of provocation in the past.

I hope that not too many people leave because we still have some good debates and we also get a lot of support for our problems on here. if I have a query on anything this is the first place I turn to.

Does anyone really care if, or why, Catherine has left. She obviously had her reasons.

People join and leave this site everyday. Why the fuss over another one.

mildred, firstly my point of not telling people who i am was clear... i posted for the first time in months and the member who i do not get on with, and made me leave before jumped at the first post...i did explain this

secondly i know catherine well, but ann in glos should never have mentioned anyones name in her post thank you

Its not the point of people not liking it because they dont know who you are. If you have been here as you say, a few years you will be aware that a tiny minority of people over those years have used name changing to cause upset.

When you posted your guess who I am thread, most people were happy to play the game, as they assumed it was your intention to reveal who you are. Sadly your thread went belly up, as many other threads of that nature have done before.

What then got peoples goat was that you then refused to reveal who you were. Thats after dangling the carrot.
It made people question your intentions for posting the thread in the first place.

Maybe if you were so worried about revealing all, the thread shouldn't have been posted in the first place.

Rose has already explained to you for using your thread as an example. I understand why she did so (Giving the reasons above)

A message had been left by Catherine via Rose clarifying things, so please put this behind you and move on

yes ann i read it but all the same you still mentioned my thread which had nothing to do with her leaving, people don't like it cause they do not know who i am, well i proved a point i have been a member for 3/4 years i left because of one member i came back after months and the first time i post that person starts so i would rather she doesn't know

I gave up trying to guess who you were Jan...remember you but not your name if that makes sense lol

Trouble is over the last year there have been several people who have appeared and changed their name 3 or 4 times and only ever posted nasty things and/or sent vile PMs that is why there is such suspicion when someone 'innocently' changes their name or returns under a new one!.

I dont see that catherine left because of name changing.
God Almighty there was nobody changed their name more than Hoff..and she was the best of friends with him
And is their a rule on here that you cant change your name if you want to.
