Oh bless - it can be so much extra work with a child with special needs - but all the DS children/people I've ever met have always been very loving and gentle.

He and his oh will probably need time to grieve the loss of the "normal" baby they were expecting and to adjust to the reality of having a baby with special needs.
I'm sure the baby will be loved just as much if not more. xxxx

Not the news they expected obviously, but I am sure they will love this little one just as much and it might make them stronger together too, especially being so young. I am sure they will have all the support and love they need from both families and this little girl will be a joy to all who meet her, when she arrives, and in the future.
Many blessings to you all.

I often work with children who have Downs Syndrome. Most have been born to quite young parents. In this area there is an active Downs Association who help new and expectant parents and parents throughout the child's school and adult life.

I would suggest they contact the Association as near to them as they can and get them involved now. If you need any help with this let me know and I will do what I can.
