I too have loved reading all your accounts of "visitations" I too had one a couple of months before I got married, from my Nan, I was asleep in bed and it was the time just as the sun was rising so I was in the waking stage but not fully awake when I felt someone sitting on the end of my bed. I realised it was Nan, (don't ask me how as I couldn't physically see anyone) but it was her. Now hubby to be was my 1st boyfriend ( 1975) and had only met my Nan a few times before we split up. Nan passed away in 1977 and we got married in 1980. All she said to me was that she hoped she would be as happy as she was to my grandad and also to her 2nd husband. She asked me to put my wedding bouquet on her grave. The day after we got married, hubby and I drove the 40 miles to Birmingham and went to the cemetary and did what she asked. As we were leaving the cemetary a white feather floated onto the car windscreen. I took this to be a sign that she approved of what we had done.

Strange thing just happened I was reading through this thread when a very very large bee cam in through open door, had a good look round and went out again. OH said "that was an omen" I replied that it certainly was and told hime what I'd been reading. ........Today, 8th May would have been his late Father's birthday...... Happy Heavenly birthday Dad.XXXYes, I believe.

Jen ~ Report 8 May 2008 13:54

My dad died when I was 15. He was a great lover of horses, especially race horses and watched them on Grandstand every Saturday.
Many times he would say that if he could come back, he would come back as a horse.
On the night he died, I had to dash to a phone box to call an ambulance. Mum & my brother stayed with dad, and I later discovered he had been able to talk to them a little. Asking my brother to look after mum etc, etc.
I was the only one who never got to say goodbye to dad, which was a torment to me.

12 months after he died, I was walking down a country lane with a friend and we passed a field with horses grazing. They were some distance away, and we weren't really paying them any attention, so carried on walking and chatting.

Suddenly we heard clip, clopping footsteps behind us. On turning around, we saw a beautiful white horse trotting down the lane behind us. It had not been in the field with the other horses, so we had no idea where it had appeared from.

As the horse approached us, it began to nuzzle me in the back with its nose, which I have to confess, frightened me, never having had such close contact with so big an animal, so I began to run. My friend not wishing to be left alone, ran too but, the faster we ran, the faster the horse trotted to stay with us.

Eventually, we came to the end of the lane, where it adjoined a main road.
Fearful that the horse may get hurt, I turned around to see how far behind us it was. Only to discover it had disappeared.

Over the years I have often wondered about this incident. Could it have been dad trying to say goodbye???

Well, my Dad died a few weeks ago.
My hubby, brother my Dad's lady friend and I were sitting in his house the day after he died.

There was a huge big bumble bee buzzing about the window.Dad's friend, who was sitting in his seat, started to rub her knee, she felt something 'furry' it was the bee, It then flew back to the window, they wanted to 'splatt it but I said no, and got a bit net curtain for it to climb on, I then took it out the back door and let it go.

Every time I see a bee now i think of Dad.

~~all....

When MIL was in hosptial 2 days before she died.a blackbird sat outside her window,,everytime I looked he just sat there head cocked to one side,,the next day he was there at 4-30 am when we got called to the hospital as she died in the late afternoon he was still there only this time singing his head off,,,,,,,,,that was strange as he hadnt made a chirp till then,,,,,,,,,,also a daft helium balloon we had got her 9 weeks before. and was tied to the end of her bed just went down to the floor, !!,,(still have it packed away).even the young McMillian nurse was spooked by that,!!

as I opened the window to let her soul go.the blackbird flew up to the window and flew off,,,,,,,,,,I like to think it was her dear loved husband come to fetch her.........

strange things do happen,
