I shopped on line from T. twice.
Asked for fresh salmon.

In its replacement was the smallest tin of J West salmon you have ever seen. Obviously a student who had about fresh fish!.

It was a good job I was not having a dinner party - can you imagine serving up boiled new pototoes, fresh green beans, lemon and dill sauce to the merest piece of tinned salmon !

Next time I did it I had somebody else's shopping - they were obviously going to do some baking - lovely organic eggs, flour and butter. I went out to the van driver and said this bag is not mine and he said well yours was the last delivery - keep it! So I did.

Every time I ordered on line I'd get half of someone elses shopping with mine and when I rang they just said dont worry just keep it. It made me feel bad to think that someone somewhere was going without.. I got a case of dog food and I kept seeing a dog with big eyes everytime I glanced at it!
I dont bother with them now but I regularly get a knock on the door from the delivery man trying to give me shopping for the house down the road TUT

I got some of someone else's shopping once - I used to order online when I was at university because I found it easier to plan out the week's shopping. So I rang up Tesco to let them know and they told me to keep the extra shopping as the delivery driver wouldn't have time to come back for them (even though the delivery slots are 2 hours in length?).

But the problem I always found was, sometimes at the top of the receipt was a note saying "we have substituted these items as they weren't available today - if you're not happy with them please give tem back to the driver for a full refund" but the drivers always seemed to stay just long enough for me to sign for the delivery. They used to shove the receipt in one of the bags, get me to sign for it and then go - I never had chance to query anything.

After re-reading all these posts, was wondering what the Director of Tesco's would think of all our responses? In a sense its stealing as we have not paid for the items - bet they would not allow us to have a bag for free at the check-out!

Hi Karen I have been doing my Tesco flood shopping online for 2 years now...if you had asked last week i would have said no probs..but this week i am so bl**dy furious i dont think i will ever shop with them again.

My shopping was due to arrive 9-11 on Tues eve. Didint turn up and when at 5 past 11 i tried to contact customer services ....guess what found out they were closed.


phoned them yesterday morning...not happy coz it was my sons birthday and instead of enjoying him playing with his prezzies i had to be on the phone arguing about the food we had ordered.

Any way....i said i wanted to pick it up from the store by 2.30 but they said that wasnt possible as it wouldnt be ready by then.....cant see why it was meant to be ready by 9 the evening before!! The said they would re-deliver 9-11 yesterday evening. Without much other choice we agreed.

10.30 last night it hadnt arrived yet so i phoned and they said it was on its way. 10 to 11 my husband phoned and they said all the information they had showed it was coming.

Guess what!! no food arrived. Oh I am so angry although not as angry as i was last night to be fair

What really peeves me about on-line shopping is the amount of things I want that are "not available" at the moment.... but know damn well if I went into the store they would be on the shelves.

I stopped using Sainsburys as they never had Kit e Kat cat food on-line - but sold it in store.

Tescos is not much better - for example, I like Charmin loo rolls and will buy packs of 9 or more rolls to save time and money. But on-line I can only buy packs of 4!

I can get Kit e Kat from Tescos - but only packs of 6... the packs of 12 (cheaper) are never available.

But that is my only gripe with on-line shopping, it's usually delivered on time and once they rang and said it would be an hour late and were very apologetic. Also Tescos gives the option of being carrier bag free - which I like. I used to end up with a dozen of the blighters with Sainsburys.

I've been shopping online with T***** for a good while now, especially since I moved out to the coast and the nearest supermarket means a taxi ride which means a tenner round trip - cheaper to pay for delivery every week.

The only time I had to ring them was to tell them that their driver had given me someone else's receipt by mistake so I was unable to check that I'd received all my items as I can never remember what I've ordered. I asked them to pop a copy of my order/receipt in the post (which they did) but they ALSO refunded the WHOLE of my shopping bill for that time!!! I've no idea why and I didn't question it with them - just thought it was very nice of them!

We've used T & S in the past but have found Wait**se to be by far the best.

My mother is unwell and I send her food via T online and they have been great

I've used Ocado (Waitrose) for my weekly shopping for years now, and never once in all that time have I had a problem with delivery.

The difference is Ocado food etc comes directly from the warehouse and is not picked by personal shoppers at the actual supermarket.

I used to shop online with A*** but they kept letting me down leaving a message on the answerphone saying van has broken down we will deliver on Monday (this was Thursday).

I now use T**** and have done for a couple of years, I rarely have any problems. If I am not happy with sell by dates which is rare, I just phone them up and they refund the money no questions asked.

I wouldn't shop any other way, I hate supermarkets and will not go into one if I can help it. I have a little C*O* near me which I use during the week for milk and bread, and I get my fruit and veg at the market on a Saturday.

Sounds to me, as long as you keep some basics stocked up or can nip out for emergency supplies, you can get your shopping very cheaply what with all the refunds and extra deliveries lol
We have a Somerfield over the road, 5 mins walk away, so don't need to shop on line, I often go over around 6 ish and get all the reduced bargains lol

I would be furious with the way Tescos have messed up the latest delivery tho
My o.h.'s sister works at T, she is in charge of the pickers for the online deliveries. Not a particularly bright person tho and not a good cook or canny shopper so I wouldn't want her picking my stuff!

i've used Ocado in the past too.....never any problems and you know when ordering if anything is out of stock,
