hi melanie,my nan used this saying all the time,it means dont take off your warm clothes until may is out.i suppose its good advise the weather we are getting,lol.

Lisa my nan always said that to us younguns.

My grandfather used to say if asked about the weather.

If there's enough blue sky to make a sailor a pair of trousers it will be fine later.

if we were playing our music,this would be 70s! nan would say,he sounds like a gleed under the door! a gleed was a pice of coal from the old style open fires and it would make a scratching sound if caught under the door,lol.
