I know this has been asked before but I can't find the thread.

I do have my tree on the internet.
But all my research etc. is in files or on discs and I have told my daughter that on no acount to throw it out. Even if they are not interested someone down the line will surely be . A lot of hard work goine into it .
If they do throw it I will come back and haunt them :-)

Chris, how do you leave your tree to the records office?

Germaine

Germaine Report 27 Apr 2008 13:38

Oh some they will have to redo but a lot on paper so as long as they can read lol.
It will be OK.
I know what you mean about changing technology though I had some things on floppy disc got a new pc and no floppy disc will have to get one and transfer that .
Did start to put everything on paper but so many census now couldn't keep up with the ink.

Germaine,,
Rather than floppy disc, I suggest you get a Memory Stick, which will hold lots of info and can be plugged into any computer usb. Len,

Just take/make arrangements to give them a copy - possibly a disc and a paper copy - at least the technology of reading does not change!

Are they willing to take copies of people's family trees. That is such a good idea.

Germaine

Germaine Report 27 Apr 2008 13:50

Squirrel - they will accept any info like that - old books on area etc/research may well be of use.

Meybe not SRS,but you are about to be "Mutated" Apparently there is a "Gene" just out that is changing Grey Squirrels into Black ones, and they are Mating with both Grey and Red,to form a "Super Squirrel"that will make the others Extinct. So Be Careful,They could be Programmed to Attack Scousers.**M**.:o)>. pmsl.

Sadly I have not got anybody to pass on my tree to. I dont think my two neices will be at all interested in the dead as they are not interested in their living relatives!

I am doing the tree for me, for my pleasure.
