~Summer Scribe~ Report 22 Apr 2008 21:18

Hi all, I had forgotten that I shall be appearing in Whitley Bay for 4 nights from the 28th (next monday).

Anyone wanna meet up (Mau? et al) If so, where? As I don't know Whitley Bay very well. We're staying at the caravan park.

Also, I've probably asked before, but my head has been all over the place. Does anyone know the record office that would cover Wallsend (Hoping it's not TWAS). And I'm having a serious case of DeJa Vous so I'm sure I asked but can't remember the replies LOL.

Thankies,
Liz

Gah, didn't really wanna go into Newcastle if it could be avoided. Maybe I'll just email them about it instead, after all, it's pretty specific.

If we can agree a time and day then perhaps we could have a mini-meet?

We have rellies further up from there and a deceased one in North Shields, which was the purpose of the visit. Been into Newcastle once and decided was never gonna do that again LOL.

With all the stress and upheaval of moving It had slipped my mind until mum reminded me today.

Have a lovely time Liz.
Don't forget to put your bin lid down before you go, close to your neck of the woods, isn't it? (the bin fine etc)

LMAO yeah, it's ok, we have a guy in our block who is self-appointed hall monitor or something LOL.

Just realised our away time coincides with local elections first time I'll have missed voting. Will have to talk to the parents tomorrow.

Am off to bed now, shattered.

night x

I would think wallsend would be covered by Newcastle[civic centre],or North shields, both p[laces having very helpful staff on hand.
Hey,we could possibly get hold of Ann,[darlo] as well ,get her and Jenny together and you have the makings of a great day .Fred

Go to South Shields library - fam hist section - phone and book beforehand - they have an excellent fam hist section. I have Jarrow relatives and was able to access a lot of info. Hope that helps. Metro station not far from library.

Have pm'd you Liz. Have just got a pm from Mau and it looks like we have a mini meet up in the making.

Mau has suggested The Boadwalk right near the beach for a coffee, which is fine by me.

I am ok for any day you are up here Liz. Wallsend comes under Tynemouth district so all info will be at North Shields Library. No need to book a reader its always quiet in there. Will come to Preston Cemetary also.

Ian where abouts are you?

Definitely North Shields you want Liz, lots of research in Central library (where I found grave plot) and Register office,on banks of Tyne, for instant certs.

Hi guys, oh wow am excited about this. Looks like the 1st which is Thursday for the mini-meet and parents and I were looking at Wednesday for the granddad search. No certs needed but we're looking for info on him from when he was staying in Simpson's Hotel in Wallsend.

Jenny, will reply in pm.

Flat is coming together nicely, just got a bunch more stuff out of storage (all my books and cd's etc) I hadn't realised how much I have but it's fitting in surprisingly well. I think the space under a double bed is the bomb! LOL.

Deanna, just appearing LOL (I was being smart-a*sed ;-) )

Have I replied to everyone? Sorry if I missed, you guys were all busy while I've been sorting out today.

Liz
