What an utterly gorgeous morning it is here. I've been sitting in the back garden with my morning glass of cranberry and dandelion juice, enjoying the warmth of the early morning sun and the tuneful cacaphony of the daily blackbird v song thrush song contest.

Our daffodils here are in full bloom and the trees are just starting to unfurl their leaves. The sun reflects from the sparkling dew drops and each breath of the breeze sends a kaleidescope of colours bouncing from bough to bough to delight the eye with an exuberant promise of a glorious day to come.

Lambing is now in full swing, and the gentle blare of the new mums calling their wobbly legged offspring makes delightful background music to the whole pastoral scene.

Cheviot is visible to the north, her snow covered peak standing guard over the valley, reminding us that winter is a recent memory, but in a gentle way so as not to spoil the beauty of the day.

Rabbits are chasing each other round the field, woodpigeons call lazily to each other and the roe deer are making their way home from their nocturnal carousing in the night clubs of the ancient oak wood.

Whats this..? It's Dan the labrador, gambolling in the field next to the house. What a cheery little chap he is.

Oh joy. He's rolled in a very dead sheep and jumped up at me. I am going to kill him. Excuse me one moment.

Ian....enjoy it whilst it lasts because the next few mornings when you wake up down here in Essex all you'll here are the groans of traffic whistling in the winds n the sights of buildings standing proud in the skyline of the smog....n the only green you'll see is the grassy verges along the side of the road....lol

I know it won't be that bad where you'll be but you get the picture....lol

Have a good day :o)

Oh, Ian. Dont dogs love to roll in the smelliest thing they can find. The number of times we had to bath our dog.......(who is now no more). At least he was never a house dog. And the cats dont seem to roll in things, thank goodness. They just bring mice inside, sometimes still alive. Not that I am scared of mice, but prefer not to have live ones running around. What I really dont like is when OH brings firewood in and I later find a weta or centipede running around.

Beautiful here in sunny Hampshire :o)
I have all the windows open so the gentle (?) roar of the M3 is drowning out the radio.
I'm off sick today - bad reaction to some new pills the doc has given me, that I started taking on Saturday, but I feel slightly better than I did yesterday (not thrown up yet! :o). I'll give it another day before going back and refusing to take them!!

Mind you, on a day like today I'd much rather be off work with aching muscles and chronic nausea than at work!!
