POSITIVE Pauline

POSITIVE Pauline Report 21 Apr 2008 12:51

I went to see my sister yesterday, and it's the first time I've been back to Mum's house since her funeral. Sandra (my sister) has taken over the tenancy, and obviously will put her own mark on the place. It was just so hard to go into Mum's sitting room to find all her photos have been taken down. It also brought everything back to the surface again for me.

On top of all that I've got a UTI as well - been to see the doctor today and got antibiotics for that.

Then I've got my next specialist appointment on Wednesday morning. That's at the same hospital that Mum passed away in.

I'm finding it very difficult to live up to my board name at present.

Any hugs going? I really need them please.

Sorry to be a whinger :-(

PP

Of course you are not whinging. It is a hard time for you and you are also under the weather. A good place to find comfort is the anxieties and depression thread.

Pauline, we love you. Please don´t expect too much from yourself at this time. How you feel at the moment is neither negative or positive, it just IS. Allow yourself these feelings and flow with them. Please post here anytime, I´m off line for 3 weeks but I know there is always someone here for you to talk to. Chica xx

Pauline. Sorry to read this thread. It must have been so difficult for you to go your Mums house, but even worse when you noticed all her photos had been removed.
Hope your UTI clears soon, and good luck for Wednesday, and sending you positive thoughts.

Pauline, maybe it feels a bit soon for your sis to take the pics down and that is why you feel sad. An acquaintance got the house my Mum died in, which had been my family home for most of my life, we moved in when it was a brand new council house and my parents didn't buy it, so it had to be handed back after 45 years. It was so hard to say goodbye to the house but the memories came with me, and when I went back to see my friend after she moved in she had changed it so much, it didn't feel like our house any longer.
Because you have a family member still there it makes it harder to cope with while things are still raw.

I had the UTI a couple of times recently but am now taking cranberry tablets from H and B and hope they will help me resist further problems. It does bring you down tho so hope the antibiotics will work and you will soon feel better.

Good luck with the appointment.
Lizxx
