broke my heart her telling us she wanted to die and how could she make the pain go away.
I spent the time holding her hand and she still had a good grip on her but she is just wasting away.
At one point she asked why there was a policeman sitting by her bed which was in fact me but as my top had stripes down the sleeves she must of thought it was a uniform.
Popped into her house on way back to use the loo and that bought the memories flooding back.

I just hope she gets her wish soon as she has no life or dignity left and the man that was the love of her life and who she has missed everyday for the past 12 years is waiting for her. Sorry if that upsets anyone .

My heart goes out to you Dawnie, we went through a similar thing with my Nanna. It was so awful especially as she'd just beaten and won against cancer (She had a stroke caused by reconstructive surgery after throat cancer).

Dawnie, I've been there twice. It's 10 years today since I lost my Mum after long months of illness and I lost Dad a month ago.

It's horrible to see but all you can do is be there for them and love them.

So many times Dad said he'd had enough but it wasn't his time.

I wish you and your grandmother the strength to deal with what is happening and what is to come.

Much love,

Gwynne

Thank you everyone and Gwynne sorry not a good time for you for me to put this up.

Now I am home its all hitting me and after feeling sick all day the headache has started probably cos I have used my brain too much today with all the thinking and am going to go and have a lay down and know that I will cry - dad always says Im the more emotional one of the family guess hes right, cant even face eating at moment.

Thank you for your kind words

Dawn love, you must eat, keep your strength up. I know how helpless you feel; when my Nan was just wasting away, my Mum (her daughter) said it's so unfair, as we put animals to sleep to save them suffering. That was in 1980; my darling Nan passed shortly after. I'll bet Grandad was waiting to take her hand ............

Dawn, it is so hard when you know somebody you love wants to leave you behind, and it is even harder to see them suffering. It was the same with my dad, he was 93 and in the end just more or less turned his face to the wall and went to sleep. He was never the same after my Mum died - they were married 60 years all but a month and he couldn't get on with life without her.

I hope it wont be too long before she gets her wish and I hope the end wont be too hard for you.

Lots of (((((hugs))))) for you.
