One of the mothers up at the school is known to be a real pain in the wotsit......... she is up there moaning if a child so much as sneezes near her son. She's very loud and VERY aggressive.

My friends eldest son has had one or two run ins with this boy in the last couple of weeks. All the usual playground name calling stuff......no violence.

ANYWAY my friends son has been very quiet for the last few days and very withdrawn. We've tried to find out what is the matter but he hasn't wanted to say.

My friend has just phoned me to say that for the last two days, her boy has said that this parent has been staring at him through the classroom window and glaring at him at hometime and he feels intimidated by it.

He hasn't told his teacher about it.........(however..........he is known to be a bit of a *drama queen*) (sorry Hayley lol) and he's saying he doesn't want to go to school tomorrow.

Thing is..........I would be inclined to believe him ....she IS a nasty bit of work.......however........it's his word against hers as it stands at the moment.......

I have advised my friend to speak to the headmaster and get the boys teacher to keep an eye on the window tomorrow to see if she can be caught in the act by a third party.

My friend wants to confront the mother directly which I feel is a REALLY bad idea.

Any suggestions and thoughts please?xx

Security for the children is the responsibility of the school, so its not a good idea to go for direct action, that will only end up your friend getting into trouble.

This parent needs to be caught in the act, then an official complaint can be raised with the school.

LOL Ian......................good plan, but possibly illegal.

The school should monitor and see if she is doing what the child says.

They are within their rights to ban her from the school grounds if necessary...............all children deserve a happy time at school.

Deal with it through the school. I really don't think your friend should confront this person herself. She's bound to have a 'posse' and it will be turned round on your friend and could end up violently by the sounds of it.

Muffy,

Are parents allowed into the school grounds during the school day without an appointment? When is she staring through the window?

If it were me, without resorting to a verbal confrontation, I'd speak with the teacher. Peering through windows at children is probably against some law or other.

Speak to the school............... the more parents that speak up about this and more likely the school will act

Sue........the parents wait in the playground at home time and his classroom looks out onto the playground. It's bad form to look into classroom windows and it's not something that I've ever seen anyone do there........however this *lady* is a law unto herself most of the time.

Myself and my friend don't wait in that particular playground as she comes with me to the infant section to wait for my youngest then we walk round to meet the juniors together xx.

Hi ya Muffy ... please forgive me but think this should be left alone to die a death , I don,t know how old these kids are but , if this mother is really trying to intimidate , she,s making a career for herself . Kids go to school to learn amongsts other things , about life and how to deal with it . I have seen instances where parents have fallen out because their kids have , only to discover the kids made friends 24 hours later ...where as their feud has gone on for years ...
I would say let it go ... teachers have a hard enough job without dealing with over protective parents ... in 10 years time this lad will be telling his Mum to "leave it "...

Can your friend pick up yours from infants tomorrow and walk round to meet you in the other playground? She can then tell the little boy aunty muffy will be waiting outside class ?

In a non threatening way.

def school first..

.....if its true ,no doubt there will be some comeback from this person,,that will have to be dealt with as and when by what ever means..

its no good mother going all guns and blazing because even the most angelic child can elaborate on happenings,,,,,,so both sides need to be heard ,,,,,,,,,

I know exactly what you're saying Kim and if it was between two kids I'd leave them to it.........but because it's an adult I think it's necessary in this instance to draw the schools attention to it IN CASE there's something in it.

That's a good plan Maddie. LIttle one will be overjoyed to get my very girly friend (as opposed to her colour pink hating mother lol) to herself for a while and it would be useful to do a bit of a reccy to see how the land lies round there. xx

Good luck with this one Muffy! There were only between 16-24 kids at my lots' last infant/junior school so we all knew each other.

I don't envy parents of young children today at all..

i think maddie is right u go and see for yourself then go to the school when you have actual proof that it is going on

then if the school dont do out go dierect to the lady and have a quiet word

when my littlone was having trouble last year i went the school twice got no joy so got the mother on the way home and told her in no way would i tolerate it she spoke to her child infront of me or course she hadnt done it but the next day she nocked on my door to play with my daughter and they have been friends ever since

My rule in the playground is nod and smile to all and don't get involved outside of school with any of em unless you have to....... I've made about 5 exceptions to this as I have got to know them very well over a long period......but as a rule I don't get involved in playground politics.....it's vicious !! and that's just the parents !!!!!!!! lol x

Perhaps the whole class could run to the window and poke their tongues out at this person - rude I know but she is being rude herself - how embarrassing would it be to have the whole class staring at her.
