Hopefully this really is a hoax. Thanks anyway Tania for telling us. :-))

Miss Silver Slippers isn't our Empress of Drama, is she? Doesn't sound like her. Or is there another Hayley?

And, just for the record, our Roxanne definitely is NOT arrogant; she's one of the nicest, caring peeps on here. (That'll be 50 Euros, Rox, pls lol).

Tania, Id love to believe its a hoax which is what I first thought it must be but the info given about it being a hoax is from the actual gallery and Im afraid it doesnt ring true at all.

It says the artist fed the dog - the dog is a bag of bones with hardly the will to live, he wouldnt be able to be fed normally (I am a dog rescue volunteer) in that advanced state of starvation. In the pics there is no water for the dog, he is laying on hard tiles and tied by his neck.

Im sorry but I dont believe the artist did this to draw attention to the street dogs plight. If that were so, at the very least this one dog would have received vet treatment but instead we are told it was only there a day and escaped? How could that poor dog escape in that condition and tied up? In other stories we are told he was released back on the streets? So the artist who was so touched by these dogs and their plight was happy to bung the dog back to his fate?

Have we heard that the artist has set up a fund for the dogs?

Im sorry, the inconsistencies just dont ring true and it seems to me that news was given out by the gallery as they are probably fearful of the consquences following the outcry.

I have to say I've just been onto various sites, and his story kept changing. Now, I'm not so sure that it was a hoax.

What a beautiful animal.

Hi All

I hadn't seen Tania's original message and put on a message of my own today following an Email from a friend. Like some of you I am getting quite confused and at present don't know what to believe.

I personally believe that if the artist was gross enough to starve a dog to death and freely show everyone then he'd freely show pictures of if after it had died too. So I like to believe that the whole thing is just an exageration.

I can´t look at the site, but as we all know there is a lot of sick people out there. I´ll tell you what, here in Spain it is a constant battle to educate the locals in care of their dogs. We are surrounded by weekend cottages where their owners leave their dogs from Sunday till the following Friday or Saturday morning, (sometimes longer if they decide not to spend the weekend out of town) without food and sometimes without water as the bucket dries up when it´s hot, these dogs are usually tied up to a tree with not much shelter.

The people themselves are lovely friendly people, they just don´t understand that it is CRUEL. I´ve even offered to walk the dogs along with mine on an evening but they laugh as they wouldn´t dream of "walking" a dog anyway.

We can´t get any help with this either as there is no law to protect dogs, just working animals like, oxen & mules that too is an iffy area.

Oh I can´t get started on this, I could fill all the boards with horror stories.
