Hi, SS...didnt know you were both close by or I would have.
I was born nr Kirkby Lonsdale, live in Hampshire now.. visiting family so thought I would pop over as my Father and family were born in Barrow, I spent two day's there, got lost in blooming road work's lol.
Very helpful in RO and Lisa Shuttleworth in Registar's office is a great help.
Next time I go up I shall give you a shout..maybe we can have coffee?

Oh there are road works everywhere and most of them were completely unnecessary... sore subject. LOL.

Pity we missed you. Be sure to shout us, I'm sure Caz would agree that it would be great to meet up... we are planning a cumbria meet at some point...but we're a bit slow with the planning LOL. I'm hoping to see Caz again on Wednesday so we'll have to get plotting. Last time I was at the RO they were incredibly friendly and so helpful. They were really interested in our Brick Wall too.

Try typing in the male appendage as a surname.
You would have thought GR would have removed most of these people,

When I was looking through birth indexes a few years back I saw a boy called Enough. I presume somebody didnt know how to spell Enoch, but I did wonder if the mother had loads of children and said 'that is ENOUGH'.
Huia.

LOL Summer I must have gone past Tesco at least 4 times the first time I was there, couldn't find the A590 so ended up going along the coast rd, not good on a very windy, wet, dark night when you dont know the rd.Second time I left in daylight, so found my way out lol.
Am up in the Lancaster area quite often, so will give you a shout next time as no doubt I will be making another trip to Barrow RO.

Hun, if you went past tesco...you were ON the A590 LOL. That's the problem with the new one way system (that no one wanted and we were all told our objections to the planning council were unfounded) it's really confusing and pretty darn stupid!
