You trend setter CMD!!

My house is a small 1930's terrace so have plumped for buttermilk walls downstairs (including bathroom), hall and landing - just a standing area top & bottom of the stairs really - and stairs. Pale laminate in living room & bathroom, green lino in kitchen, beige carpet on stairs. White in 2 bedrooms and daughter has painted her room green.
All bedroom floors are just floorboards.

Sounds boring, but I have had, in the living room - and therefore stairs as well, pink, battleship grey, green, sunflower yellow and deep red!!! Thought I'd go for simplicity last time!!

My hall is a mess, waiting for my new porch to be completed which should be in a few weeks - then I can attack the hall with vigour.

Its my front room that worries me - I worked so hard on it last year and finished it in Jan 07.

Everything out!!!! Spent ages choosing colours and went for a very pretty brown and cream paper - brown suite, new carpet - doors and all woodwork stripped right back through years of gloss sanded right down and repainted - new lamps and cushions - I was so proud of my effort and choices........

......Then about 6 months ago a certain TV Soap which has a slightly 'mad' relative in it - shot some scenes in what was supposed to be where she lived ....

I sat there looking at identical walls to the ones I put so much effort into and looked at her suite and almost died!!!!!

And it was made out to look awful! At least she didnt have my curtains!

Gosh, some very nice colour schemes. do you tend to follow colour co-ordination throughout the house, or do you prefer each room different. Right now I am into chocolates, whites, browns, bronzes, and creams.

Plaster coloured, with squares of different colours ranging from green, brown and blue, teracotta and yellow.

Wooden floor in hallway, tatty grey carpet on stairs.

you may have guessed - were decorating (and have been for 18 months!!)

Going for a Victorian green on one wall with cream on the majority and a beige carpet on the stairs and landing. Two windows (small - one at top ,one at bottom) are going to have either wooden venetian blinds or cream roman blinds.

may finish it one day!

Years ago, when it was all the rage, we had the study, hall, stairs and upstairs landing all artexed and painted white........and as you can guess.....years later it was considered naff.....

....so we had a big alteration with new stairs, the whole lot replastered, wood flooring and modern lights.......dado rail.......and decided to paint.....

B&Q had a special offer of paint but when we put it on the wall it was slightly different from what we thought.......but looks lovely.......pearl stone on the top and a very pale lilac under the dado.......the kids think we have style......lol....

Hall, 2 staircases and both landings all in white with a hint of something!!..Used to be pale green but changed the carpets throughout house to pale beige so that was changed. All our wood is unpainted throughout the house, thank gawd!

Sitting room dull gold. Main bedroom, deep rose. Second bedroom, cream, third bedroom same as hallways. Bathroom pale grey and blue, would like to change that but finances say no way!

Hahahaha Jennifer... as I might have pointed out once or twice this year.. I live in a wreck.. the hall and landing is currently:-

one wall - bright yellow... with big bits of plaster missing
the other walls are a paler yellow on badly put up artex,
the ceiling had really lovely polestyrene tiles in a nicotin shade of yuk...they are no more...removing them has revealed a lovely mottled orange ceiling. nice LOL

The carpet at the top of he stairs is bright red and the stairs have half of one of those carpet samples from the books each a different shade of green.

All so very tasteful... wouldn't you agree LOL

I look forward to the replies for this thread as, when, BIG WHEN, I get to the good stage of this project I'll need inspiration.
