Roast turkey, spuds, broccoli, buttercup squash, and stuffing. Gravy from the drippings.yum.
As much as I'd like to have lamb, the cost of it here is prohibitive, and having 7 to feed, a lamb roast is out of the question.
First order of business on my next trip home.

I thought Ham was the traditional Easter dish?

We've had roast chicken with roasted spuds, parsnips, swede, butternut squash, carrots and peas plus yorkshire puds and gravy. Followed by strawberry cheesecake and/or chocolate icecream and cream.

All very tasty.

Yesterday my son and his girlfriend, who is from China, cooked us - yes you've guessed it - a Chinese Banquet.

They worked really hard and produced a total of six different dishes.

Today it is Roast Chicken - not my favourite - but there are those little cocktail sausages wrapped in Bacon to fall back on.

Tomorrow we will have elder son, partner and year old grandson with us as well and it is good old Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding.

We used to make a big splash when the children were all at home.

We would have a turkey and all the trimmings.... and usually found an extra couple (or more) friends of the children's at the table.

I loved it when my kids were younger.

No we just have a nice dinner.

Just checked the menus over and you have all made my mouth water!
I think I'll join Sue in Somerset :-) Hope there's some leftovers Sue ;-)
I have just got in from work so it's a shepherd's pie in the oven - courtesy of M&S for me and son - organic carrots and buttered cabbage are fresh though.

LOL Lynda

I've got a little bit of chicken and some gravy left! About half of the Strawberry cheesecake is still there too!

I roasted a piece of pork yesterday so planning on doing cold meats tomorrow.

Can live with jacket potatoes Sue lol

This could be a whole new topic - whats your favourite topping for a jacket potato - just for the record mine is cottage cheese, coleslaw and shredded beetroot. (have my fingers in my ears to block out all the YUKS!)
