I say good luck to her, after all, she gave up her life to care for her parents .She deserves to have the family she yearned for.

From the report I read it was from IVF but they had believed that she'd miscarried back in August. I don't agree with IVF at that age either, she'll be a pensioner before the child is even 10. Her partner may be 11 years younger but that's not a great deal better.

But, that said, it's done now. I just don't see why they didn't find other avenues to have a child like fostering, although I believe she's too old to adopt (and if you're too old to adopt then surely you're too old to have a baby through IVF).

She had had IVF in the past but this is natural, what a shock for the poor woman tho, I wish her and baby all the best.

I agree too Ann....................but I have been lucky enough to have children naturally.

The drive to have a child can be overwhelming...............and if the doctors offer IVF to older women.........many will take it.

Having said that I wish the lady all the very best of luck with everything.

through IVF - don't agree with IVF at that age - much too old - just my opinion, others probably will disagree with me

I don't agree with abortions unless there is something wrong with baby or a danger to mother.

I wish this woman all the best

Ah, it's through IVF, Can't say I really approve of someone becoming a parent at 57 but I wish them well.

I think it was IVF, husband younger than her.
I wish her well, and hope she doesn't find it too exhausting.

She'll sure need all the luck she can get, as at that age you never expect to be given that news. She must have given up all hope many years ago.
