Kaz. I had personal experience of having to go through the appeals procedure when I was deemed fit for work in the eyes of the government, whilst still attending the hospital, and undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Yet all the local junkies and alccys get extra money every week. Where is the justice in that? |

I got call from them Wednesday, and am waiting for a letter with their explanation of things. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, I am going to contact a lawyer, and my MSP. |

The sad thing about incapacity benefit is that it is being paid to hundreds of thousands of perfectly able people who are, quite frankly stealing from those of us who pay our inflated taxes. This is why the govt have to change the way it works, it is simply costing us far too much. |

Haven't read full thread. But wanted to say that I don't know if this is actually the case as the doctor who does the medical only gives their view on the person and what they observe, they can make a recommendation but it is up to the person at the benefits agency that handles the individuals file to make the decision based on the info they have. I can see that there may be a quota that the benefits decision maker might have but certainly not the doctor themselves. |

What annoys me even more is anyone on incapacity benefit has to pay for their prescriptions! |

Why shouldn't they pay for prescriptions? The rest of us have to. This again highlights the problem with the benefits system. |

That report has me utterly disgusted. It's obviously not the doctor but whoever is messing with their reports that is at fault. |
