My local tescos is just over 2 miles away from my house, it takes me 25 mins to get there if im on my own, if Boo is with me you can add a good half an hour to it to compensate for buggy pushing (baby annabel has to come too) asking daft questions, needing the loo half way down, looking in the wedding shop window at the pretty dresses, and pointing out landmarks (mummy thats where we got married to Nathy, thats where kerry had her party) takes a lot longer but you see the world in a childs eyes.

Good for you Ros, I used to walk everywhere at a very fast pace most of the time. Would leave K behind, he always ambles. The neighbours used to say they couldn't understand why I was putting on weight the way I dashed about lol
They didn't know about the odd Mars bar or something I would take to keep me going lol
Now I can't walk more than snail's pace, drives me nuts, and I get hot and bothered and out of puff into the bargain.

Couple of years ago I could do a mile in 12 mins. Not sure now - would be a bit slower I think. (I'm 51).

Like others, about 10 years ago it would have taken me 30-40 minutes. I used to walk really quickly when I was younger so when I was 17 it probably would have been 20mins. Now I need a walking stick and couldn't walk even a quarter of that without being in serious pain and needing to rest half a dozen times and it would probably take me an hour to do just that.. maybe longer. *curses Fibromyalgia*

I go at dog Parson Russell terrier, warp speed! I also have a piece of Meccano and 8 screws holding my ankle together. I'm a fast walker I guess. I'm talking about now, I'm only 43.

Now or five/six years ago?

Now... wouldn't be able to walk that far even on a good day, it would be too painful, and I wouldn't be able to walk at all for a couple of days after... lol

Five/six years ago? Well it used to take me an hour and a half to walk slightly under five miles... but that included letting dogs stop to sniff and have a free run off the lead, and throwing the ball for them!!

Now it takes me 30 minutes.
