Thanks so much everyone... it is looking good, lol.... we have been advised that flood protection measures should remain in place, as there is another exceptionally high tide later today.... not as high as this one...

me and Jethro have been in the bedroom anxiously scanning the ground, but all sems well.. the rean at the side is pretty high, but the one at the back is still very low. I can breathe easy again for a while, lol and let the cats out for a widdle, lol

I do hope everyone else is ok, Cornwall and Devon have been hit... and a lot of Cardiff to Newport have lost electricity, so hope Ann of GG is ok.

And there goes a train, lol... all is well in my world.

Thank you all for your advice and support... it really helped stop the eebie jeebies.

Mwahh to everyone... and good luck to you all, as this storm isn't over yet, it would seem.

Love,

Daff xxxx

Morning all.... so far so good. We seem to have escaped damage from the storm.. high tide is at 8.50 am and is expected to bring flooding to this area... I am hoping it will be minimal here, though I have prepared for the worst... rather be safe than sorry. The storm ditches are looking pretty low still, so fingers crossed! I'm off for a shower and brekkie..... just in case, lol!!

All the animals spent the night cuddled up with us... we even had the litter tray up here, lol!! Very indignant they were, cos I've blocked and sealed up the cat flap... Jethro should have a headache... he tends to throw himself at it Kamikaze style, lol!!

Love

At the moment, the south coast is wet, but reasonably quiet.
Good luck to all who may be in the path of this Johanna storm.
I do hope all your pets will be safe too.

Omg, Daff, hope things aren't as bad as expected and you don't have any problems. I hate high winds etc and always worry that something will happen at my house and I won't be there to know or deal with it. Would hate the chimney to go through the roof for example and all my things get soaked, wouldn't know where to start to get sorted or get the builders in to deal with it. I think we are not going to be so badly hit as your area tho, so must be sensible and stop worrying, and worry for you instead lol and all those poor folk who might have troubles.
I surely wouldn't want to own one of those penthouses at MQ and I wouldn't want to be staying in one either, would be spectacular views I am sure, but wouldn't get me up there for love or money right now lol
Take care love, and hope things aren't as bad as forecast. I think after the hurricane debacle when the weatherman assured someone there wasn't a hurricane coming, they like to cover their backs now.

love to all feeling vulnerable,
Lizxx

Thank you everyone... I've just written loads... and Hermie has helped by pressing one of the buttons and losing the lot, lol!!

I am calmer now... we have moved all the important and irreplaceable stuff upstairs.. I was calm when we first got the call, then stopped for a minute for a drink.... and a little bit of panic set in!! I'm fine now that I have all the geneology stuff, photos, and cats upstairs! I got my priorities right, lol

I will sign in tomorrow... after high tide, which is shortly after 9am!

I'll see you all tomorrow.

Love
