Rose,

Not many Daff's yet, must be my location, that dam rhodie had to come out, thought it had that disease, didnt want it to spoil the azealeas, get a good show in May.

Good Morning Joy xx

John, assuming if your daff's aren't out you are somewhere north of Wales, they were earlier here than last year. shame about the rhodedendron, hate losing plants myself.

Rose,

I am near Stirling in Scotland, losing plants is like losing a part of the family. You feed and nurture your plants to get a good show and make people feel good.
We tend not to like losing anything as it seems as if we have lost control of it. The secret is to think of it as making room for a new friend.

ah well John that far north it is a bit early for the daff's.

Some of the plants I have are cuttings from the original plants my grandmother had....so they really are part of the family! Those will have to come with me when I move for sure.

Rose,

you cant beat the old cuttings. My mum found an old perennial (Geranium) in a skip behind some old houses. It has now spread through half the population in Scotland, I keep seperating it and giving it to other gardeners, I tell them to do the same each time they thin it.

J* Near M3.Jct4 Report 7 Mar 2008 13:45

Afternoon RR and everyone - I've been outside for 2 hours tidying, sweeping leaves and dead-heading polyanthus in tubs (only doing gentle work promise!)
Had lovely sunshine this morning so I made the most of it when it got back from my walk to the corner shop for my paper. As I have lunch it is now clouding over.
At least I've now got some fresh air in my poor old lungs - but am feeling a whole lot better this week.
