Ah Dawnie, I'm sure that it's probably contributing.

I took some chocolates to my friends where I do my voluntary work and the three of us almost finished off a box of celebrations. I feel like such a piggy but it felt strangely good to just not worry about it for a day. I'm gonna be good for the rest of the week.

I've put on 2 and half pounds so back at 10st 6lb. I was surprised it wasn't worse after my couple of days of splurging and combined with being on my period. I'm not too bothered to be honest, too much other stuff on my mind.

Well done to the losers. Don't lose the faith to those who've stayed the same or gained.

weigh in is on monday for me. I have two days of salads in my future to make up for my "stuff the diet" mood of today and last night. Things are bad and stressful right no with stuff for me so I think the diet is having to take a backseat. That said, I may have had a cheeseburger but the burger was such good quality I'd bet it was 100%beef, I didn't eat it all even though it tasted fantastic.

I sort of regret it now but... I can live with it. Not sure what the scales will say on Monday. I should care but don't really right now.... I will come monday morning though.

You're right, Penny, When I was younger I used to follow Rosemary Conley's low fat diets and exercise plans and they always worked.

Today I was really good, fruit and veg all day in good quantities, then OH came in and dragged us all off to the Chinese. For heavens sake!!

Welcome Helen - anyone can join & encourage :-)

Perhaps you should have a look at Karen's recommended book. I think though different diets suit different people & different peoples lifestyles !

Can I join please? I am fed up of getting nowhere. 3 yrs ago I lost 2 stone with little effort, now it's impossible, it seems.

Last time I stopped eating potatoes, bread, rice and pasta from Monday to Friday and ate what I fancied at the weekend. I also exercised hard for 3 days a week. The weight just dropped off. The trouble is I am so lazy now I don't want to shake my stuff.....

Karen

She's written loads of books - there are 50 odd on play.com!!

I used to save my favourite bit of the meal to last so would eat everything even if I wasn't hungry - now mix it up so if I feel full now stop & so don't feel like I've missed out on the best!

i have also changed from butter to olive oil spread, a low fat one if i can get it but bertolli is the one i'm using now.

the secret seems to be home cooking, none of the processed stuff, not weight watchers ready meals, and low fat pre packed sandwiches they are full of added sugar,

also use smaller plates to put you meals on, the bigger the plate the more food you will put on it and even though you aren't hungrey anymore you will still eat everything that is on your plate because your brain is telling you too.

it's true scientific reasearch.

i found this out in january, my grandad had a heart attack and i was talking to one of the dieticains on the ward and she told me about all the right and wrong things to do and gave me a leaflet about it.

I eat the multigrain bread - it makes you feel even fuller longer than brown bread :-)
