gee thanks Julie! lol....it was the cord that broke....sheared through.....mindyou ,being practical ,
the cord must have been at least 30 years old and been moved around a lot in that time......

the good thing is that I had moved a table underneath it a few days ago (in the kitchen) and the very heavy frame (victorian, two pics with a mirror in between) came straight downward and was propped by a liquidiser and a cookie jar....lol it hasn't broken anyway....so I may drop dead but at least I won't get the 7 years bad luck from the mirror breaking.....!

What do you mean ...not hung properly in the first place???!! lol

Funny...I was not sure about moving the table there...it was in the front room and I did think it might be more useful in there....but if i hadn't moved it to the kitchen...the mirror would have broken probably.....mmmmm....lol
