Nudge as we're all wondering how things are. Hope the cream has helped with the itching and that the test results have shown what's going on.

Hi just thought id give an update
Well good news is all her bloods tests came back normal, we are still waiting on one its the billirubin level test. we went back to the docs last week and he gave us the results but he still seemed concerned mainly because she is still in pain under her rib (he still thinks it is a gallbladder problem after examining her) so he sent her straight to the hospitol but this was confusing because when got there she saw a gynacologist (sorry for the spelling) not a gall bladder person, anyway she did a quick scan of the baby and babys fine which we knew as she only had the baby scan 3 days before but it was lovley for us to see, she then went on to say that she is too young to have gall bladder probs and that its prob her rib bone swelling apperentley sometimes in pregnancy due to hormones the bones in your bottom ribs can swell and cause pain ive never heard of this before have any of you? seems a bit odd to me anyway im not convinced shes still in pain not any worse but its still there plus shes still itching which she had a blood test for at the hospitol for a condition in pregnancy which the doc says very little can be done about anyway and will go when the babys born. hopefully well get the results of that soon cant help feeling she was fobbed of im taking her back to docs tommorrow and ill tell him im not happy
Sharmala.

Poor girl, what a shame she can't enjoy her pregnancy. Hope you can find a doctor who will help her.

I just googled swollen ribs and pregnancy, and found a site called I.am.pregnant.com and found 'swollen ribs in pregnancy' - there are several other women talking about this problem and there is a question and answer part so might be worth looking at.

Too be honest, I don't think you're ever too young to have gall bladder problems. It doesn't really care about age.

How lovely that you got to see the baby though :-) Does seem strange that she saw gynae instead of a radiographer to check the gall bladder. I've never heard of the rib bone swelling, and she's not far gone enough to have the baby pushing on it, surely?

If the billirubin is normal then I would say that the gall bladder and liver seem to be normal. I guess it depends on her diet etc. I hope you get some answers soon.
