my grandaughter is descended from hicks of scarborough (her mothers line).
i noticed yesterday that there were some in terrington near malton 1600/1800.
have made a mental note to look there when i get round to researching this part of the tree.

My direct line comes down from her brother edward hicks born 1820 married mary hart

they of the parents of deborah i was refering to earlier

just trying to work out what relation she is to me may take a minute

mother is susan clarke born c 1798 died 1866

OK - here we go - 1851 census.
Sarah's parents are John Hicks age 50, carpenter, born Wickham Skeith. Mother is Susan age 52, born
WS> . Sarah is a dressmaker.

think ive found her, she wasnt coming up on mine but my cousins got more on her tree than me and shes on hers

we share the same grandparents which this line comes from
