Paul, I hope things improve for you soon!

Gerri, I know what you are going through. I lost my beloved Standard Schnauzer on 3rd December for exactly the same reasons. I have visited 'Rainbow Bridge' several times since his passing but haven't managed to read much of it without the tears. I am still going through the guilt stages of putting him to sleep, the 'What if he wasn't really ill' and 'Did I end his life too soon' 'What if there was a cure' scenarios keep repeating themselves. I know in my heart that he was ready to go though, he wasn't eating, not enjoying or even wanting to go for walks and his eyes had that hazy look and towards the end he couldn't stand. I am able to talk about him more openly now, and day by day it gets a little easier although the 'set backs' are to be expected and I have had a few of those. I bet life on 'Rainbow Bridge' is a ball and I will probably meet you there one day when we re-unite with our 'furry babies'. I too said I would never have another dog but I miss the patter of those four schnauzer feet so I have registered with a breeder and hopefully will be a 'mum' again soon. I am thinking of you and understand the pain you are going through.

Flippin' Nora Paul, you lot up there must be jinxed.

Any news on the lad in the accident?

I see a young lad is missing near Downham Market, seems really strange he just disappeared but his mates didn't search for him properly, thought he had gone home? A trainer shoe lke his, was found in the river later.
Another heartbroken family.

Hope your bosses mum and s.i.l. soon feel better.

It's got worse!

My bosses mum & sister in law, who are also good friends of mine were involved in a quadbike accident.

Her mum has broken her arms, and seriously bruised her chest, whilst her sister in law has bruised her bum & tail bone!

Oh Gerri, how sad. He must have felt heartbroken. It must have been hard for you to, to have to drive back with him upset.
Hugs for you all hon.

My family had our dog Tessy, yellow lab cross, put to sleep one summer when I was living 70 miles away, we didn't have a phone at home either. They didn't tell me till I went home for a weekend, but she was mostly my dog when I was little, it was awful. She wasn't really ill either, just oldish, about 12, and it was a very hot summer, they said she was suffering. Why couldn't they have waited or asked me if I would go home to see her?

I was so sad.

Oh Gerri, Fluke sounds lovely, a very special little dog and gave back to you for what you did for him.
Of course you will miss him lots for always, but what a wonderful family of pets you have had.
I thought of you the other day as there was a pic in a magazine, think it might have been Prima, of a Forest cat - I remember when you got her!
Take care hon, mind you don't end up on the floor lol.
Hugs for you and Maggie, and all who miss Fluke.

Flukes history....

He was a rescue dog.....

He was found in a cat run/cage with about 20 cats.

My Daughter resued him and brought him to me after i had just lost my springer spaniel Bramble (14 years old)

I looked at him and thought i would find him a nice new home....(there was no way i was gonna keep him!)

1st job was to get rid of the flees and scabs.
This turned into an enormous vets bell (over £300)

He never ever complained.....(nor did i)

Then the vet decdided his teeth needed to be looked at...........another £200...this left him with 2 to three back teeth.

This diddnt take long for him to adjust. He could chew a small bone better than i could lol

I already had a 'tiny' Yorky Holly......they got on right from the start........

Holly was going blind......Fluke was her 'seeing eye dog'

You had to see this to beieve it....
