Special thoughts for all who don't have their Mums around any longer, me included.
I said to my son we could eat out or he could cook for me at his flat, not something he has done before, so he said today he would cook me a roast dinner, bless him, he said he thought it would mean more than eating out. As he knows I grudge anyone spending hugely inflated prices on Mother's day lunches, I am quite happy and will be just him and me, might get him to come to my daughter's grave with me if we have time. Looking forward to it, he usually manages to find a nice card too.
O.h. is happy to stay home and do some more decorating, and he can nip to the crematorium to pay his respects to his mum if he wants to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~wave to everyone~~~~~~~~~~~
I am inviting my wonderful foster mother over for lunch along with her daughter, my "sister". We could not be any closer if we were blood relatives. She fostered me when I was 14-18 years of age, that was over 30 years ago!
I have been trying to persuade my son to buy me.... NOTHING..
He is so good to us that we end up with nowhere to house things.... aaaarrrrggg!
so they are taking us out to dinner on Sunday... 'and father comes too'.
My husband is my carer and he is really the one who needs the day off.
Whatever you are all doing, have a good day.
Definitely, although dad is always easy to buy for. It's mum who's the pain. I feel double pressure as she'll get little of one brother and probably nothing off the other.
Maybe I should buy a tin of paint for the new bungalow PMSL.
lol summer-awkward arent they-when my FIL has a birthday he always says I dont want anything and we always get him something as you do but one year I m not going to bother-he'll probably sulk!
Lets hope the weather is decent on sunday so those of you going out have a lovely day-it can be very blustery in Liverpool so I am going well prepared!!
Hi Angie
I'm doing the same as you - going up to visit the boy at Uni! It's going to be quite a difficult day, only the second without my lovely Mum, and the first for my hubby and sister-in-law without their Mum. We're meeting SIL as well and the four of us are going to a nice restaurant for lunch. I'll be taking flowers to the crem on the journey up.
Going around to ex wifes and letting them out for bit whilst kids and me do dinner.
The garden's difficult as they're in the process of moving. The other place needs a lot of work first and I wouldn't have a clue where to start for what to get her for it. She's a right pain to buy for. Lots of "don't wants" but won't give a clue of what she does want. Maybe I'll just get her socks...that'll teach her lol.
I am meeting my son and he is taking me out to lunch, leaving o.h. to get on with decorating. He is happy with that arrangement and so am I and my son too, cos he doesn't like o.h. much.
