Thanks guys.... but, I am trying to find the new style. ie since 2001..

CX53 ***

I know all Essex registered cars are EX, EA, EU or similar... Essex is easy though. Kent appears to be a G (Gillingham)

Where is the C from?

The area of registration is determined by the first 2 letters of a number plate. The first letter determines the area
A - Anglia
B - Birmingham
C - Cymru (Wales)
D - Deeside
E - Essex
F - Forest & Fens
G - Garden of England
H - Hampshire and Dorset
K - Kettering
L - London
M - Manchester & Merseyside
N - North
O - Oxford
P - Preston
R - Reading
S - Scotland
V - Severn Valley
W - West of England
Y - Yorkshire

So CX would be C = Wales, X = Bangor (W-Y)

The second letter denotes the local DVLA office
