Could be a high german word for 'Ivy'?

Ebah was born in 1796 so doubt i'll find he/she on a census lol. Mind you stranger things have happened........ I'll have a go.xx

I wondered if it was a shortened version of ebeneezer. xx

There aren't many come up on the censuses, 2 in Lancs and one in Wales but born in Ireland, so it may have it's roots over there? Or it started as an abbreviation or something?

Interestingly, three births between 1984-2005 with Ebah as middle name.

And I'm beggared if I can find it again now to work back and find the sex. We are dealing with a Smith lol *eyes are now on stalks* lol

I have a list of rellies to check in Hertfordshire a mile long now ......... lol. Gonna have to have a few days away in the near future to verify all this methinks lol xx
