I wonder if they might have adopted her. *ponders*

She might have been sister's child.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 14 Feb 2008 21:49

Could explain the christening date too.

~Summer Scribe~ Report 14 Feb 2008 22:10

She either wasn't born in Rock or she was adopted by Thomas and Elizabeth. Or they some how avoided census.

I now think Claire had the right family, Thomas is a miner on 1851 census. I also think that unless Jemima was staying with someone else she was actually his sister's daughter and the adopted her.

On 1841

Name: Thomas Bradley
Age: 25
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1816
Gender: Male
Civil Parish: Rock With Heightington
Hundred: Doddingtree (Lower Division)
County/Island: Worcestershire
Country: England
Street address: Bucknick (?)
Occupation: Labourer
Registration district: Cleobury Mortimer
Sub-registration district:Cleobury Mortimer
Household Members:
Name Age
Elizabeth Bradley 50
Elizabeth Bradley 20
James Bradley 9
John Bradley 23
Laurena Bradley 55 (male...could he be laurence?)
Thomas Bradley 25
William Bradley 13

It is possible that Elizabeth (20) is Thomas' wife rather than his sister. I really wish 1841 had more info.

I can find three weddings on igi for a Thomas Bradley to an Elizabeth.

1. THOMAS BRADLEY Gender: Male Marriage: 27 JUL 1836 Cotheridge, Worcester, England - ELIZABETH CALESS

2. THOMAS BRADLEY Gender: Male Marriage: 26 DEC 1836 Kidderminster, Worcester, England. - ELIZABETH JENNINGS

3. THOMAS BRADLEY Gender: Male Marriage: 28 SEP 1839 Saint Thomas, Dudley, Worcester, England - ELIZABETH NEVILLE

Could be one of them or none of them.

I give up. Some input from Peter would have been helpful, not a lot you can do if a question is posed and the person disappears. Sorry.
