I have got not one, but two blinking Cold Sores just starting.
Just been chatting for an hour to a newly found 2nd Cousin on the phone and felt the dreaded 'tingling'

That's it, I cannot possibly fly out to the Algarve tomorrow, what ever will Lindy think.

She will think - crikey it's Long/legs and wont even notice!! (she's too busy trying to find Boris anyway)

Have a wonderful time - drink plenty of lovely orange juice whilst there and get plenty of Vit.C.

Give Lindy a hug from me please, if you wouldnt mind - Thanks

I've tried perfume when had nothing else, does dry it up a bit, I usually find I get them if out in bright sunshine, or very run down.

Try and forget about them and have a good holiday.

Tea Tree oil also works quite well if you haven't got Zovirax

Sorry, just got Daughter to pop me up chemist for Zivorax. Have used it before and always found it good if used at the very start.
Mind you, tell you what else works if used straight away. Sanex Antibacterial handwash. I only have Cussons at the mo though. Sanex used at the very begining really does work. It has saved me from many a sore developing.

Will pass hugs on to Lindy for you all.

I've never had one myself, but my OH does get them when he's run down or stressed! Zovirax works for him, he just hates it though because i won't kiss him lol

Enjoy your holiday and try not to worry about them.

Deanna lol, it was whilst talking to a new found Cousin that I first felt the Cold Sore. may meet up with him next time I am down the Midands.
I am off on holiday tomorrow, flying for the first time to Vilamoura in the Algarve and meeting up with Lindy on Saturday.

Ann, yes all packed, and have been very calm all week. Are you around this evening?

Linda Report 11 Feb 2008 18:11

I use Corsodyl

It is a dental gel. I happened to come across this by accident through my daughter when she was little she suffered with mouth ulcers & Coldsores.
we put some of the gel on her mouth & hey presto the ulcers & coldsores were gone within 24 hours.
Yes she used Zorvirax for years, but never worked.

Try it!
