on the wrong one .... MY SON !!!
Got a call from sons school today (he,s nearly 16 ) saying Tom had been in a fight ! "please don,t worry Mrs ..., we know your son and this has never happened before , he is a lovely pupil etc etc , but he is very agitated .We are also aware of the reasons for the fight and we don,t want him to worry about it over the Easter Break. We do think he may want to visit casuality to check his knuckles on his right hand , so can you fetch him ?..
Turns out , school bully picked on the wrong kid this time and got pasted . Sons had nothing but texts and e-mails from other Kids in the school tonight saying Thankyou ....He picked on me , etc etc
You may think I,m a bad Mum but , no way am I going to punish him .. :)))))))

No you are a good Mum, he doesn't deserve punishing. Hope his knuckles are not too sore. And I hope the bully learnt his lesson.

I think you are a brilliant Mum..............you obviously raised your son well.

He stood up to someone who needed to be stopped, the school are sensible in seeing this as retaliation rather than punishing him as well as the bully.

Well done to your son and the school.

Good for him. Far too often the bullies get away with it. I like the wonderfully worded message about getting his knuckles checked lol.

Well done.

Harsh may it may seem, when I was at school in the 50's and 60's, in these circumstances, both bully and victim received the same punishment, namely the cane.

Bully went off crying and victim emerged as the hero.

I bet that bully got a shock he won't forget in a hurry!!
It's sooo satisfying when the worm turns - no I'm not calling your son a worm LOL , But the look on the bully's face must have been a picture when a normally placid lad knocked him for six!

Thanks all , I haven,t brought my boys up to start trouble but have always said they must defend themselves if someone else corners them , starts a fight and there is no way out , apparently when he came out of the office to come home , classes where changing and all the kids in the hall clapped and cheered him ! This other kid started the fight , Tom is usually really quiet , walks away from trouble , this lad dived in but ended up on the floor ... I don,t condone violence , but even the teachers ??? Umm best not say anymore ?

be proud of yourself young man and remember how good that felt, but also remember now the power you have, use it wisely and in the right situations,
im sure you will

i know a lad who was in simular situation, self defence they call it but the judge didnt see it like that
he just got home before xmas from jail , hes 18 ish,

Julie Anne , we had a long chat in casuality, Tom said he has never ever lost his temper like that before and I think it,s scared him a bit . He,s 6 foot and wants to be a fireman , so is staying on in 6th form until he,s ols enough .
Jackie , something the bullies need to learn , the quiet ones are the ones who will eventually bite ..lol
Peter I have said to the school , I am more than happy to go along with any punishment they see fit to apply , but they have said ... obviously " Tom is under a lot of stress due to his forthcoming GCSE,s so no further action will be taken " ;))))))
xxxx Thank you , OH is on nights an I,m so glad I,ve got someone to talk to about this !!!!

wonder what would have happened if it had have been other way round

he got his come upance my daughter decked him... but they excluded her for a few days but it was worth it ,, school didnt do a proper job if you ask me

Some people may not agree with me on this but thanks to my Dad I think Boys have to be able to take care of themselves , one day they have no choice but to become men.
We have had 2 world wars where "boys" had no choice but to grow up fast or die . I have tried to teach them self respect , consideration for others but mostly , sounds crass I know , to be men , the sort who open doors for women , respect women , walk on the outside nearest the road ... if this offends any womens libbers .. fine , I burnt my bra in the 60,s (it was very small!) but I make no appologies .

nope im like you kim
well not the bra bit cos i was born in 60s,

you know tho what i mean
i taught ours respect for themselves and others
especially elders,
and to be a gentleman,
and polite
sometimes they forget a bit but hey tehy growin up and if you treat um politely they repay it i think

sons mates have all been great with me ,
i know they have a lark about but nothing major, nothing bad

It looks like your son's school backs him, and about time too......unfortunately sometimes this is the only way to tackle a bully......they are all cowards at heart......good on your son.......x

OK now Toms has just told me , earlier in the day a kid brought a knife into school intending to use it . The police where called before anything happened , Sorry but I,m now imagining if this other kid had a knife , I would not be here saying well done to my son ... This has got to stop in our schools ! We are in a rural area if its happening here , god knows what it,s like else where . We send our kids to school for an education not this ...
