Oh - how awful....
What is Micky????

Pneumonia isn't always fatal for little ones - even if the vet says otherwise!
My Guinea Flower-pot has had it twice, and i had a wonder bunny who fought it and won four times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck and loads of positive thoughts comming your way!!!!!!!!!

He does have pneumonia, but hopefully I have caught it in time. He now has to endure the full antibiotic thing and I have to keep him warm!!
I can't keep myself warm so am very worried as to how to do this.

Can you get some of that thermal bedding stuff for animals from pets world or similar? When one of my cats had cat flu years ago, I covered her bedroom (an old sideboard in my bedroom, lol) with all sorts of insulation, and tented it over a couple of chairs with an old duvet... it stopped any draughts, and stopped heat escaping while still allowing air to circulate. We didn't have central heating then, either, so it was freezing, with snow to a depth of over a foot outside.

I do hope Micky recovers well... prayers and thoughts are with him.

Just found this, too.... i thought I'd seen it somewhere.... heaven aloneknows why I'd bookmarked it, lol

*Treating Pneumonia in Pet Rabbits

Treatment with broad spectrum antibiotics will work well
if the infection is caught in time. If left to gain strength, too
much lung tissue will have been destroyed and the rabbit
cannot be saved.

Steaming with a human vaporizer and Vicks will often bring
relief to a pet rabbit with pneumonia, when used in conjunction
with antibiotics. *

Everything is crossed for you

If he's not feeling well he won't be in the mood for trying to burrow. can you put a hot water bottle in his hutch under his bedding?

I remember from when I was a child my rabbit loved eating warm mashed potato skins with bran added. (Made warmer with water from the kettle) I think porridge made with warm water is OK for bunnies.

We got some igloo type cat beds from Tescos for abt £8.....I think one of them would be ideal for keeping the rabbit warm...especially as he wont be feeling like moving about for a while.

Dont know if they still have them...was a couple of weeks ago...but you can buy them from pet stores...just that the tesco ones were much cheaper and nicer looking/better made
