Sue in Somerset Report 29 Jan 2008 20:58

This is a terrible crime.

But what a stupid woman! If I were of a murderous nature (which I'm not!!!) there is no way I'd tell a neighbour!

Does make you wonder how many perfect crimes (which don't even get recognised as such) get committed though.

I do so hope they lose the cell key... she deserves never to see the outside world again, never to hear a bird sing, and to be locked away in a world where she is not allowed to communicate.

How wicked wicked wicked..

So do I, Catherine, she deserves locking up for life. It wasn't even like someone whose husband had been beating them and they fought back in self-defence, she had been planning it carefully just for the money. She's deprived him of seeing and hearing his son grow up, and deprived her son of an active father.

Yes Mandy your right those pics of her coming out of court looked like she had not a care in the world.
I hope she personally gets the book thrown at her. evil woman to do that to her OH-no matter if they had probs or what that goes far beyond anything.

I saw this on the news earlier today and I was gobsmacked. I couldn't believe anybody could be so cold and calculating as to do that.

Apparently, she had done lots of research on the internet to see which was the best way to poison him!

What really sickened me though, was seeing her walking outside the courtroom with not the slightest bit of remorse on her face. She looked as if she couldn't care less.

Definitely one of the most awful stories I've heard of in a long time.

what a cold, evil., calculating bitch - may she rot in hell - I do hope she gets life and that for once it means life - in there till she dies

To my mind, deliberate poisoning is one of the worst crimes - callous, cold-blooded and cowardly. The victim either dies a painful (often prolonged) death, or suffers a lifetime of debilitation - as is the case for this poor man.

yes I agree TW totally this is evil in the purest sense-totally planned and premeditated. She apparently even looked up on the www what damage anti freeze could do.
Totally Unforgivable-

They said on the news it had left him brain damaged, blind and deaf. What has that poor poor man got to look forward to? A world of black silence.

I could have cried for him when I heard that.

Whatever sentence was handed out to that greedy, evil dispicable person will not be enough.

i think cases like this shouldnt be made public as it could give some other crank bad ideas,

It was also reported that had the wife said what she had done and used sooner the hospital *could probally*have saved some of his injuries with treatment, but she wouldnt tell or admit to it or what she had given him,,,,,,,

no good being a multi millionaire if you havnt got the health to enjoy it,,,,,,,,

The spokesperson said something like "he'd lost his job and his son" Very confusing. Anyway, I feel very sorry for the poor man, what a thing to have to live with I hope he can get compensation from the criminal injuries board. I'm surprised we didn't hear about this case sooner.

Catherine from Manchester Report 29 Jan 2008 19:35

They are awaiting sentencing but the judge has said to expect a long sentence-haven't we heard that before though-will be intrested to see what that is.
