You have to register to search the site.
You can find out quite a lot free of charge, but if you want to see the image of an actual certificate or other document, either you use credits (£7.50 for 30), or for more recent BMD's you'd have to buy a copy of the cert ( £ 12).

Everything we found for you on this thread was from free basic searches.

Have fun!

Details here of what's on SP:

https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/what-records-are-in-the-site

As far as births/baptisms, marriages/banns, and deaths/burials are concerned, the earliest (church records) are about 1560, and the latest (statutory records) come right up to 2019.

Births of Dorothy's siblings, at least as far as shown in 1911.

MACKIE
MURIEL FRANCES

There are lots of other Mackies born in Glenmuick - but no way of knowing if they're James & Mary's children without paying to see the birth certs.
They can't all be their children.

Unfortunately, the mother's maiden surname can't be used as a search term for such recent births, so no way to narrow the results down.

I've edited my earlier post showing the 1911 census entries.

James was indeed with them - I had somehow been searching for females only - hadn't meant to do that!

Jane

Jane Report 18 Mar 2019 18:17

He was living at 22 Yedder Road Aberdeen in 1947. This was on Dorothy's death cert in1947. She was living at 59 Polwis terrace aberdeen.

Thanks for that ArgyllGran. I have no idea who Joseph is. Perhaps he is Jame's dad?

In 1905 valuation Roll, there's a Joseph Mackie at 27 Baker Street, where the family were living in 1901:

ArgyllGran Report 18 Mar 2019 18:01

No electoral rolls on SP, I'm afraid.

There are Valuation Rolls at 5 or 10 yearly intervals, 1855 to 1935.
However, they only show the name of the householder, and both James Mackie and Mary Mackie are very common names.

Thanks again ArgyllGran

I think we will have to buy some credits. If this is the information you can get on there it will be really helpful to us. Thank you
