Found this on Google about Thomas White's School. It was also a home, so maybe the other children were living there:- |

Thanks a million everyone. I agree with you, this certainly looks like the right family. The only thing that puzzles me is where are the other siblings - we have accounted for Ethel and Maud and the Louisa M could be the May we are looking for, but where are Edith, Ida and Peggy ? I wonder whether these were children of Henry Rooms, born after the 1901 census, and not William Hayward. I will try on Freebmd. Thank you everyone. |

I've just found the same birth as Shirley. You could order the certificate and stipulate that you only want the certificate if the father's name is William. |

I've found this Maud Hayward living in Scarborough in 1901 but born in Coventry. Could she be one of Ethel's sisters? The transcription says she is a governess but on the image she is actually a housemaid.:- |

Shirley - Kathleen - yes that is her death. Bryan and Ethel moved to Coventry, obviously sometime after marriage. The fact that she married in Scarborough was the reason I was concentrating on Scarborough for the rest of her family. |

No, it won't tell you a lot more, but William's occupation might give a clue to finding them in the census, and the witnesses might be other family members. |

It possibly would be useful Kathleen, but would it tell me any more than I already know ie father's christian name? I don't think the mothers name is on there is it ? |
