OK...........you need to buy that marriage cert.........it will tell you how old each of them was when they married, plus the names of each of their fathers. |

As I said before, you need to buy the marriage cert..........you cannot find out anything else until you get it. |

You need to order the marriage certificate from the General Records Office - GRO - You will need the volume and page numbers to do this. Online it will cost you £7 but you can order them by phone (I think it costs about £8.50 by phone). |

If this is your direct line - although you can "manage" with the parents marriage certificate it is good practice to order birth cert as well. This gives you a clear record of evidence when you're tracking back. It will also give you exact date of birth, an address at the time - which may differ from address(es) at marriage and father's occupation - which again may differ from that on the marriage cert. So all the details help you build that picture. |
