Hi Michael...

Do you mean 1832 and 1834?

Michael

Thanks Reggie, is there any sign of them on the 1841 census? It may be spelt Edmunds.

Possibly the younger son's birth, the cert for which would enable you to find MMN

I got the information from the 1871 census a few months back when I had access to it. I also found them on the 1881 census and the remainder of the family on the 1901 census. Sometimes Edmunds is spelt with an 'o' i.e. Edmonds.

John was born about 1832 and Anne was born about 1834. (doh!)

When I originally did the searches I was not sure they were relatives but I now know they are. It would be great to see if I can go another generation back.

Thanks,

Mike

Son John is down as born Carmore Valley it should read Ogmore Valley which would either mean registered Bridgend or Cardiff I would think

Cheers Clare, have been looking for Caremore Valley this evening. Will now look at the Ogmore Valley.

They seemed to move around a lot, they eventually ended up in Trimdon, Co. Durham.

John died in the 1882 Trimdon Colliery explosion aged 13/14.

Ogmore is on the South Wales coast, somewhere between Cardiff & Bridgend (used to go there as a kid)

I think I've found it, just North of Bridgend.

It looks like I may have to go hunting in the records to find out more about Johns father, my great, great, great grandad.

Moving south from Bridgend you get to Ewenny which is famous for it's pottery (if you'e got any of their old pots your in the money) Next Merthyr Mawr which is a load of sand dunes then Ogmore & finally Orgmore by Sea

There is an Ogmore Vale to the north, which is a mining village/town. This would fit with the family moving to the Coal fields of Durham.
