There is an Ogmore Vale to the north, which is a mining village/town. This would fit with the family moving to the Coal fields of Durham. |

Moving south from Bridgend you get to Ewenny which is famous for it's pottery (if you'e got any of their old pots your in the money) Next Merthyr Mawr which is a load of sand dunes then Ogmore & finally Orgmore by Sea |

Ogmore is on the South Wales coast, somewhere between Cardiff & Bridgend (used to go there as a kid) |

I got the information from the 1871 census a few months back when I had access to it. I also found them on the 1881 census and the remainder of the family on the 1901 census. Sometimes Edmunds is spelt with an 'o' i.e. Edmonds. |

Possibly the younger son's birth, the cert for which would enable you to find MMN |

Thanks Reggie, is there any sign of them on the 1841 census? It may be spelt Edmunds. |

I have managed to trace my great, great, great grandfather to back Wales, I have details from the 1871 census but no longer have access to the records. Could someone please see if they can help me find more information on great, great great granparents.... |
