WW1 Medal Card - explanation needed

I've just got the medal card from my Grandfather's Brother from WW1. He died during the war and it appears he was awarded 3 medals - Victory, British & Star. No problems so far. The only query i have is that before the pre-printed 'Star' on the Medal card there is a handwritten '15' - anyone know what this is likely to mean?

Also - is there any way to find out further information about where he served (pretty sure it was France as that is where he is buried) and how he died?

Have you searched for him on CWGC?

Thanks both for the info. I've already found his details on CWGC.

He enlisted in 1915 - i got this from his Medal Card so that makes sense regarding the Star Medal. If only i knew where these medals were today :(
