and in 1891

Millard Rd, Stoke Newington London

Alfred R Mammen 23 fur furrier b.Finsbury London
Elizabeth J 21 b.Hackney
Alfred C 2 b.Tottenham
Ernest A 3months b.Hackney

marriage registered for an Alfred Rolfs Mammen sep quarter 1888 Holborn London to Elizabeth Warner Dodd (volume 1b page 1085)

I think Alfred's parents may have been Mammek and Catherine (both German) although a copy of Alfred and Elizabeth's marriage certificate would make sure.

1871 12 Providence St, St Luke, London

Mammek? Mammen 39 boot maker b.Hanover Germany
Catherine 39 b.Odenbury, Germany
Frederick 12 b Whitechapel, Middx
Henry 10 b.St Lukes Middx
Charles 8 b.St Lukes
Clemens 6 b.St Lukes
Alfred 3 b. St Lukes

* Just a thought. Would they have changed the surname to Mason due to Mammen being a German name (considering the 1904 time frame)..hence the twins being Masons??
