What year was your grandad born? Are any of his siblings born after 1911? These will have the maiden name on the entry. Her maiden name was not Bell then? |

You could send for the marriage certificate, this should have her father's name on it. You can hopefully then find him on the 1901 census with his wife, your nan's mother. It will also give you an address which you may be able to work on. Also, the witnesses to this marriage may be your nan's siblings again this would aid you |

You do in order to get a certificate. On your grandad's birth certificate does it give you any other names for Margaret Bell, like Jarvis, formerly bell. Do you or your family have your grandad's birth certificate? If you send me his name I will check that the index definitely says bell as mmn. |

Here is the marriage details. If you ordered this cert it would give you their father's details and possibly an address to search the 1901 census with. |

It is not impossible that this happened. I would definitely say get the marriage certificate which will hopefully give you some details to follow up. Even if it does not detail the father, the witnesses can be useful as well as the address. |
