Thomas and Mary show up on the 1841 census for Newport. Thomas was 20, Mary 30 and they had a son called Samuel who was 2 and the is a John Wild living with them who is 7. The 1851 census has Thomas at 32, Mary at 38, Samuel at 11. They also have a son called Thomas who is 8, George who is 4, daughters Mary who is 2 and Elizabeth who is 6 months. John Whilde is now 17 and a groom. Thomas Snr is an agricultural labourer. Thomas Jnr shows up in the 1861 census living in Wellington.
