Hi, could anyone find William Tummon in 1861 - 71 for me please. William was born about 1839 in Marsh chapel, Lincoln. His wife was Elizabeth born 1841 in Hull. They are found in 1881 on RG11 /4751 /135 /27, under the name TuRNmon. Thanks, Ruth.

UPDATED
Does look promising but need a second opinion

Sue C Report 29 Aug 2007 16:22

The marriage took place March qtr 1861, so quite possible that they were still in Hull at the time of the census.

The image that Maureen found is very unclear, and could just as easily be Tummon/Tummen.

Sue,

Thanks for checking the 1861 image. Really not sure about it with all those marks over the surnames.

Hi Maureen and Sue. Unless I find a closer match in 1861 I think this is a 'definite maybe'

Thank You for your time.
Ruth.

Thank you Julie,

From Yorkshire BMD -

Jemima Ellen Davies Wells marries Thomas Tummon, Holy Trinity, Hull 1859.

This now looks very promising.

Thanks again,
Ruth.

I saw this

In their purest form "strays" are persons who were born within the county with a reference recorded outside the county of birth
