At todays exchange rate for us here in Australia, it would work out at about $18.02 including postage. At present I pay A$28.00!! That is a heck of a difference!! Sonja in Oz which is now quite cool after a night of storms! Hmmm wont last long though! :( |

Carol and Tricia! How fabulous of you both! What great Christmas spirit you both have. I am in Oz and find it can be really expensive to get certificates through researchers! There is one gent I use who accepts A$ into his account but he is a little more exxie for the priviledge! The other I use debits my cards. That cost depends on the exchange rate rate!! I, too was going to ask where the websites are!! ;) I will more that likely have to take you both up on your offer at some time or another! Warm Chrsitmas regards to all Sonja in Oz Stinking hot (29C) at 9 a.m. and the promise of hotter times to come! No we don't have a pool and it is TOOOOO HOT to go to the beach!! :( |

Hi Carol, I've been ordering my certificates by telephone. I find if I phone from here, Vancouver, area at just past midnight, (8p.m in England,) they've just opened the office and I get through in minimal time. I usually get them within 10 days, at a total cost of 8.50 uk, and that includes postage. How much would they cost in the UK, plus postage. That is indeed a very kind offer Carol. Thankyou. Di. |

Hi Carol, The first cert I ordered I didn't have all the info and they charged 11.50 which worked out to $25.92. I haven't got my credit card bill yet for the other two, so will let you know later on. |

It works out at 16 Canada dollars per certificate. How does that compare with what you were charged? |

Hi Carol, I just wanted to thank you for such a generous offer. I am in Canada and have ordered a few certificates and had to pay the extra 1.50 over what I would have to pay if I was in UK. This is really very nice of you and I may take you up on the offer next time I need a certificate. Barbara |

Lisa, sorry I dont have 1851 Essex. With regard to payment, I accept cash in any currency within reason. I can change most major currencies at the post office commission free. I can also take paypal. |

Hi Carol. I've never ordered a certificate from the UK(!) as most of my research has been in Canada. I did order church records once which cost about 30 (or was it 45) pounds (ordered birth, marriage and death) and viewed a couple of wills (3 pounds each). The HUGE problem is not the expense, but the method of payment. The church wanted the money sent in pounds; the banks in our area charge a "transfer" fee, which actually would have been more than the cost of the church records. (The church finally settled for a personal cheque.) You replied to one of my recent messages. You wouldn't happen to have the 1851 census for Essex, would you? Sorry I don't have information about the cost of ordering certificates from the U.S. |

What a kind and generous offer! :-) I am new to the site, and as I live in Australia, had wondered how it might be possible to get certificates. If I find I need to order them, then I just might take you up on that wonderful offer. Thank you. Anne |

Thanks for that Lisa. For the USA it works out at 13 US dollars which is £7 the amount I pay. Is that any cheaper than the way you get them. I am hoping to save people hard earned cash. |
