Here are the results, sorry i didnt get time to look at everybodies: DEBORAH COONE: I searched Holy Trinity and St John the baptist in Leytonstone from 1910 to 1915 and could not find a marriage for Albert Glaze and Rose Pulham. NIGEL FAIRBAIRN: I could not find a marriage for John Lewis in Stebbing, but found these baptisms, Richard Lewis Son of John and Rebecca Lewis July 29th 1804 Rhoda Lewis Dau of " " " Aug 3rd 1806 Eliza Lewis Dau of " " " Aug 7th 1808 George Lewis Son of " " " Sep 8th 1811 Henry Lewis Son of " " " Apr 24th 1814 The last one also has fathers occupation as a Labourer. There was no record of a William Lewis and searched right up to 1820. I searched for the marriage of John from 1800 to 1815 and couldnt find it. Maybe if Rebecca came from a different parish they got married there instead of in Stebbing. I also looked for Newman's and there were none baptised in the 1820's and couldnt find Mary Ann Newman in 1821 so they either werent baptised or in another village. CHLOE PERREN: There is only St Nicholas church in Castle Hedingham and searched from 1770-85 and no sign of Samuel Coe or any other Coe baptisms for that matter. Maybe the place of birth was recorded wrongly on the census or maybe he moved to Castle Hedingham when he was a small boy and thought he was born there but was actually born somewhere else. CLARE ARTHEY: Found the baptism for Thomas Wright his parents are listed as William Wright and Elizabeth Lanalt (may have this surname wrong was a bit hard to read) William's occupation is listed as a Servant. STEPHANIE BROWN: I looked for a baptism of a Richard Scarborough and couldnt find one, but did find these two, Louisa Scarborough daughter of Richard and Ann Scarborough Aug 31st 1834 listed as living in East Ham. Isabella Scarborough daughter of Richard and Ann Scarborough Oct 2nd 1832 living Little Ilford. That was the only two i could find i will keep a note and if i go again soon i will check East Ham for you. MAZ: Only had time to search Baptisms at High Ongar but found lots of Linnetts for you and will email you the details. Christine Munro and John Ferguson sorry i ran out of time but have kept details of your requests and will look them up next time i go hopefully next week or the week after. If you would still like me to look them up next time i will post the results on this board. Hope i have found the right people for you. Regards Sharon |

Hi All I have made a note of all your requests and should be going this morning. Irene I will not be able to look for your request unless you leave details of where this person was born as parish registers are indexed by parish and not name. If you get back to me with the details i will try and look for you. I will post the results of anything i find later. Sharon |

Hi Sharon, While you are looking please can you note down any mention of the surname Linnett that you notice - particularly interested in High Ongar - from about 1815 - and White Notley any time before. Only if you have time tho! Thanks. Maz. XX |

Hi Chloe I have just had a look and St Nicholas is the only church in Castle Hedingham. You say the parish records are online, if you mean on the IGI this is not always complete and does not cover all the years that the actual parish registers do. I will have a look and see what i can find for you. If you have any other background info that may help me narrow the search down let me know. Sharon |

Hi, could you look up the baptism of Samuel COE in Castle Hedingham, Essex from 1775-1785? I know that is a long time span, but if you could, that would be great. I am looking to see if he was christened at another church in that village, NOT St Nicholas', these records are up on the internet and I can't find him there, even though in the 1851 census he says that is where he was born. I cannot find a marriage for him in ST Nicholas', but that's another story! Thanks Chloe |

Hi Deborah and Nigel i have made a note of your request and will see what i can find. Maggie I am afraid the records you are after are not held at the Essex Record Office. I have done some searching and found this site: http://users.ox.ac.uk/~peter/workhouse/WestHam/WestHam.html It tells you all about the workhouse and where the records for it are held. (Newham Archive and Local Studies Library). Sharon |
