Hi, Is there a chance you could have a look for an Edward Chamberlain and his wife Hannah(nee Alliban). They were in the 1841 census where they lived in Pinley Green in Warwickshire. They would be about 60 years of age by 1851. Thank you for your help. Jim Partington

Sally

Sally Report 15 Oct 2004 07:24

Jim found Hannah age 59 widow living on own also looked at alliban and the oldest I could find was William age 75 living with daughter in law surname green, have you any names of hannah's siblings male if poss easier to find. quite a few allibans.

Thanks Sally, Did it say whereabouts Hannah was living alone? Was it in Pinley Green or Rowington as that was where they spent most of their lives by the look of it. Also, if she was a widow in 1851 then that will give me a better start point to find when her husband Edward died. Does it say anywhere at what time of the year the census was done as I have an Edward Chamberlain dying in the Sep. quarter of 1851 and I'm not sure whether its the correct Edward. Once again, thanks for your help. Jim Partington

Hi sally, Thanks for looking for me,I'll probably have to do a bit more work on him as he's a bit vague at the moment..a '61 census would probably be better and looking for his son Alfred instead. Many thanks again, Kaye (Sydney)

Hi Sally, This is a bit of a long shot, but I wonder if you could help me? I'm looking for a John Rowe born abt. 1844 in Silverton, Devon. His father is William Rowe, who is possibly a Posthilion. There is no guarantee they are still in the area in 1851 so it really is a bit of a long shot! Thanks
